"Do Your Best, Let God Do the Rest"

When I sit to write this, I pray first. I look to see what God has been showing me during the course of the last week, to share from my heart. Today is no exception. The answer …rest my daughter – watch me work. Watch me be God – in all the areas of your life.

If you know me, you know the ‘type A personality’ that is who I am – the me who waits for no tide, no situation, no person .. but who has, over decades, learned God will not be hurried or bullied. He is God ..and I am not! (repeat to self over and over again 😊) That me finds it difficult to rest!

I have a ministry friend who says he stopped looking for opportunities’ years ago, and now just waits for God to bring them, for God to open the doors that should be walked through. I walked through one of those ministry opportunity doors with him this last week. It was a ‘combo-deal’ answer to prayer. Part of the prayer was his, part was mine; God answered both in a spectacular way only He could! An amazing opportunity!

I cannot say I have stopped looking, but I do pray. Pray first, last and in the middle. Pray without ceasing the Bible tells us. Prayer – the first thing I do. And then listen. Listen for that still small voice, listen for the God of the universe to speak into my life, into my heart with His truth, with His Love, with His guidance and direction.

Rest children of the most high God. Pray, rest, and watch Him be God. Do what He directs for you to do … as in .. “Do your best, let God do the rest!”

For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.” James 1.3

Praying for you ..
