We Are Better Together

Better Together. I spent most of this week at a conference in Orlando…yes, I know….but I took one for the team on this. LOL. The week was spent with people who are looking to grow the kingdom of God. People who are burdened with a desire to see others come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. It was an amazing opportunity to watch the people of God. The theme for the 2020 conference was “Together, Pursuing the Great Collaboration.”

The scripture is John 17:21, “I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one…may they be in us so the world will believe you sent me.” The last couple of days were spent with family in Colorado grieving the death of a beloved mother. Family and loved ones traveled from the corners of the country to be together. Better together. Called for More.

We rarely see eye to eye on everything. Often, we have past hurts or troubles that we allow to come between us. But we are called for more! Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love God with everything that we have and are, and to love others as ourselves. The law of Christ, Mark 32-33. We are commanded to love, and Jesus

prayed we would be recognized in that Love, so that together the world would see whose we are. By showing our Love for God, and His commandments, by showing love for each other, we are recognized as the people of God!

The third pillar is the commandment to “Go.” Go and make disciples...Matthew 28:19. What a beautiful unity of mind, body and soul we see in this. As the people of God, as our church family, we are united in a love for God, a love for each other and a burden to share that love with everyone – all other tribes and nations. (That includes family, cousins, in-laws and outlaws!)

We are Called for More and Better Together. Do people see that when they look at you?

Praying for all to see….

In love,

Pastor Deb
