Faith Over Fear

Deception. Fear. Worry. I am certain all of us have come face to face with these tricks of the enemy this week, either in person, on social media or TV. How, as believers of Jesus Christ should we respond?

Fear reminds us that danger is ahead. It can be a useful tool. We certainly must make informed decisions for our safety and those around us. But unnecessary dread or worry is a ploy of Satan. As Christians we may experience fear...of the dark, of failure, or, during these times, of sickness! But God’s word tells us “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you. So we can say with confidence, The Lord is my helper so I will have no fear.” Hebrews 13.5-6

We can, at all times, stand on the Word and on the promises of God. His Word is truth, and He cannot lie. Regardless of how we are feeling, or what the world looks like from our perception, we KNOW that God will always be with us. It is only when we leave Him, when we take our thoughts off Him - that doubt and fear can find a toehold. “Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4.4). Trusting Him, putting our reliance on the Holy Spirit inside of us allows us to stand on the rock of our foundation, and be certain we are standing in His victory.

2 Timothy 1.7 tells us “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline.” Yes and Amen!

Hold these scriptures captive during this time. Share them with others around you who want to stir up chaos and worry. This is the perfect time to give a reason to others for the joy they see in you! Are you sharing the joy you are experiencing in the challenges and changes to our everyday lives we are facing right now? Today is the day to start.

In Prayer and Gratitude,
